    Question Gah... Please help!

After five plus hours of work last night on a layout which can be found here ( http://www.politicalanalyst.net/test.php ) I have a layout that works.. but only in Safari. I'm going to grab the stylesheet for connivence sake. I know my way around CSS but I'm self taught and I frequently run into these kinds of problems, I really appreciate any help.

Safari Screen ... the way it should look ( http://www.politicalanalyst.net/safari_screen.png )

    Firefox ... t3h b0rk3n ( http://www.politicalanalyst.net/firefox_screen.png )

And the CSS stylesheet can be found here ( http://www.politicalanalyst.net/test.css )

    Thanks again,
    Max

    Validation, trimming

You could start by validating that page; as far as I could tell, there's a superfluous div end tag in there. Also add a valid doctype to aid browsers in version sniffing; XHTML 1.0 would do nicely.
Further, your markup looks overly complex, with too many levels of nested divs; this can however be because you've planned to include much more then is present in the example.
Lastly, your CSS looks convoluted, making it very hard to understand what is going on. Try at the very least to order it properly: basic rules first, more explicit rules after that, progressing down as explicitness grows. Also, adhere to the document structure and nesting order: rules for parent elements first, rules for children after that.

    Update:
Nearly forgot: next time, try to come up with a more descriptive post title then "Need help"; it will increase the likelyhood of people actually taking a look at it, and it is required per the posting guidelines...
