Help with invalid CSS Style Link

Has anyone found a way around the annoying "stylesheet" Link being invalid

    "<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/add/your/style/link/here.css">"

when editing and viewing the edited pages before uploading back to the server?

    i.e...
I do most of my heavy page editing on my PC and then upload to the server to publish. My problem is that as long as I work and view on my PC the "stylesheet" link is invalid (dir structure is not the same), therefore nothing looks the way it does on the server. This becomes very time consuming to have to "upload" to truly check the final page layout.

I do not want to have to once again add the "style" to every page, that is why I like the idea of the "one time edit" and all pages are updated.

    Thanks

Why don't you build the site on the pc exactly the same as it would appear on your site? If you have images that go into an image directory on your site, then have an image directory relative to the place you put your files on the pc

I have, the site's content is identical in structure from the top site dir down.

The only diffrence is the location to get to the top dir. The problem I am running into is that in ordered for the link to work on the PC side it wants a "../../the rest of the link.css" in the link but this then creates an error on the server.
