    padding and border dilemma

I can't seem to get the right div to have a padding of 10 without growing larger and overlapping the middle div. And when i try to take the bottom border away from the last list item in the left div a bottom margin mysteriously appears in IE. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The reason this is happening is as IE doesnt support the box model properly, especially if you dont set a doctype. You may want to look at http://www.alistapart.org for the Box Model Hack, or just look up reference on the box model.
