    Question table drop shadows (via images) - gap between image/table

    So I am trying to get these damn drop shadows to rest correctly against the top & bottom of my table. I've created a table with 3 rows, 2 columns, rows 1 & 3 are single columns, middle is 2. I've set horz align to bottom & top respectively, but there is always this damn gap between the top of the table and the bottom of the drop shadow. I can't seem to get rid of it.

    From what I am told, I have to use HTML for this, I can't be using CSS.

    The area of code/image I need sitting on the top of the table is:

    <td align="center" valign="baseline"><img src="../Images/Buttons/de-horz-line-above.png" width="970" height="16" alt=""/></td>

    Here is my sloppy code:

    <body>
    <table width="970px" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" background="../images/metal.bg.png">
    <tr>
    <td width="100%" align="left" valign="top"><table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">
    <tr>
    <td style="font-size: 10px">Home &gt; Locations &gt; Branch by State &gt; New Hampshire &gt; Branch XXXX</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="5" cellpadding="5">
    <tr>
    <td style="font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold;">Manchester, NH, 03103 - XXXX</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="6" cellpadding="7">
    <tr>
    <td width="25%" style="text-align: center; font-size: 12px;"><p><img src="../Images/Branches/XXXX/Branch-0114-01.png" width="215" height="195" alt=""/><br>
    </p>
    <p>Your Branch Manager is<br>
    <span style="font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold;">Jerry Long</span></p>
    <p>Email Your Branch Manager</p></td>
    <td width="25%" align="left" valign="top" style="text-align: left; font-size: 12px;"><p>XX XXXXXXXX Road<br>
    Manchester, NH, 03103</p>
    <p>Phone: (XXX) XXX-7XXX<br>
    Fax: (XXX) XXX-7XXX</p>
    <table width="90%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
    <tr>
    <td colspan="2" align="left" style="font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold;">Hours</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td align="left">Monday</td>
    <td align="left">5:00 AM-8:00 PM</td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td align="left">Tuesday</td>

    From what I am told, I have to use HTML for this, I can't be using CSS.
    Why??????????

    The CSS3 box-shadow property works in all current browsers including Infernet Exploder.

    You know, I'm not really sure.. I've sent an email off to our IT dept. asking what I can and cannot use. We use IBM Websphere and according to the current team, it all has to be HTML. I am hoping this will change when I hear from IT, but for now I just gotta suck it up and try and get this done, lol.

    I think the best phrase is .... They are talking bollocks because they can't be bothered. Websphere just outputs what is put into the documents, it doesn't 'care' if it is HTML & CSS or Cyrillic symbols, it's all just text.

    If a style sheet is declared and the file is in the website folders it will be used.

    If you put style rules in the header they will be used by the browser.

    If you put style rules in-line with the elements the will be used.

    NAILED IT.

    But until I can get them to OK me using CSS, I have to figure out where this little gap is coming from between my table and ds image :/

    table drop shadows (via images) - gap between image/table-screen-shot-2014-05-28-4.26.30-pm.png

    The white is the top of the table and I want this image to rest right on top, but there is a couple pixels separating them at the moment, and I can't figure out where that gap is coming from.

    No idea then, without the images to recreate the issue or seeing the code with images 'in situ', anything anyone comes up with will be just guesses.
