    Remove part of image or draw a HR line?

    Hello

    On this page Hungry Panda Chinese restaurant in the left hand box there are two subtitles which should only be underlined in that lighter yellow colour, while the background colour to Subheading 1 should not be there at all - as with the same box on this page: Bengal tiger restaurant. The two pages share the same stylesheet (almost).

    How would I get the China/index.html box to appear like the India/index.html box!?

    I have manipulated the image itself (making it slimmer), and I have reduced the height in this property:

    Code:
    #sidebar h3
    {
    background: url(images/headerbg.png) repeat-x top left;
    height: 40px;
    font-size: 2em;
    }
    but neither approach achieves my aim!

    I can remove the image altogether and draw a line under the two subtitles, but I was hoping to achieve the effect I am aiming for without having to do that.

    Thanks for any assistance.

    I don’t get it. Why don’t you just remove the color from the top half of the image (i. e. make it transparent) or make it the same color as the sidebar background?

    And what’s the effect you were aiming for? That barely noticeable gradient on the underline?

    Hello VIPStephan

    Thanks for that. The China site looks better now. I wanted the effect to be as it is on the India site Bengal tiger restaurant which it now is. No, nothing as finite as a gradient on an image that is 17px wide!

    I did attempt some image work this afternoon, but what hindered me was knowing that I did not mess about with the image on the India site, so I knew it could be achieved in CSS. There is a difference in the two style-sheets namely with #main.

    Anyway, you have got me to where I wanted to go, so a big thank you.
