    CountyFairsUSA.net css word press problem

    CountyFairsUSA.net is a WooTheme word press install that I have changed a bunch of the css on . However this one is apparently a hard change. I have tried everything I can think of and Woo is refusing to help me. I need a expert to look at this.
    This is the #main.col-left next to the blog posts there are some words date, author, comment and edit. Try as hard as have for weeks I cannot change the color of those words nor can I put a background box of #400000 behind them. I would really I believe like a background box and still be able to change the color of the words.
    I have tried a few things AND its driving me crazy!!!

    .post-meta li.post-date a

    #main.col.left

    #main article aside.post-meta ul li.post-date

    Tried this am
    FEB 27th
    .post .post-meta li.post-date {
    color:#400000;
    }

    With the WP themes I have noticed that some things you have to use the !important tag when using custom css. WP themes does some things differently then I would code them at times...lol.

    Try
    Code:
    .post .post-meta li.post-date {
    color:#400000 !important;
    }

    try in style.css
    Code:
    .post .post-meta li.post-date {
    color: #400 !important;
    }

    in layout
    Code:
    .post .post-meta li.post-date, .search-results .features .post-meta li.post-date, .search-results .page .post-meta li.post-date, .search-results .type-product .post-meta li.post-date, .search-results .type-portfolio .post-meta li.post-date {
        background: url("../images/ico-date.png") no-repeat;
    }
    which is in layout.css.

    You are putting your CSS in style.css which comes after style.css. So your rules are being overwritten. the !important should fix that.
    Stop making things so hard on yourself.
