    drop down menu form

    Hi,

I'm in the process of creating a website and the customer requested that I create a drop down menu with multiple menus and a submit button but I am not sure how to proceed.

    1st menu - Brand

2nd menu - depending on the brand choice different menu would appear

Thank you in advance for the help

This can't be done with HTML. What you need is javascript, and there are many ways of doing it. They all start with detecting the first select's value has changed, and upon change, to modify the second menu. You can clear its options and populate it with new values based on the first's values, either hard coded or from a database.

Please in a photo editting program show us how you want this to pan out; layout or some kind of idea of how it should look.

You can do this with css3 and html, no jQuery or JS needed! Pure css based menu.

I'm curious tempz, what CSS do you have in mind? Because I can't think of any CSS that works across browsers that allows you to load data/change the DOM. Heck, I don't know any CSS that lets you change the DOM.

He just wants a simple drop down menu that sends data aswell, the menu can be pure css the form can be php/sql.

    Done.

If you wanted to make it look fancy and professional, you could ajex and send the data without reloading the page.. So yes you would need javascript but only to make it look fancy.

Yah, I thought so. Tempz: he wants a form that changes a second select based on the value of the first. That's not doable with CSS alone. It requires a scripting language of some sort, like javascript.

bechm: how familiar are you with javascript?
