Display contents in a box on hovering the subject line

    Hi,

    Its a simple question.

I need to know how to display the content of a topic (from a list of topics) in a box while hovering the mouse on the subject line.

For example, look at the following URL of this website :

    http://www.codingforums.com/php/

Hover over any subject, it will display first few lines of the content in a box. How to implement it ?

    Thanks a lot,

    Isaac

    Hello Isaac Sureshkum,
I looked at the title attribute as well but that would require you're putting that in by hand. I think what we're seeing for a thread preview is built in to the forum software.

Have a look around at https://duckduckgo.com/?q=forum+thread+preview and see what you think.

Yeah, you need to populate the title from the server-side.

    Way above my pay grade.
I can't seem to find any jQuery snippet that does it, it seems to be built in to forum software or not available...

This is a vBulletin based site. The page templates are populated by PHP scripts. The text for the title comes from the database. Virtually every Forum package and CMS does it exactly the same way.

If you are not using third party software then you need to work on your generation scripts and DB
