    Question Need Guru To work on simple site - get paid

    Hello there,

    I have been working on a responsive website the last few days. I have it mostly where I want it to be, but since I am no guru I need someone that IS a GURU to tell me what I need to do in order to get some things to work. I need to be able to talk to that person, let them know what I am trying to achieve and then have them show me or teach me what I need to do.

    Basically I am not at a point where I can look at code and go.. Oh! that is the problem. I need someone that can. Please let me know what your hourly rate is and things you have worked on. I want to perfect my coding ability not HACK it.

    Let me know if there are any takers and if there are can people please provide information about the people responding and if they really believe they are good at what they do. Suggestions on potential people for this endeavor are appreciated.

    Kind regards,
    Stephen

    No one ever gets to that point. We sometimes luck out and do this 'cause we've seen it before, but when it's something new we have to work at finding the problem. So that's not gonna happen unless your problem is very simple.

    Not sure what that means or why being secretive about the problem has to do with it.
    I see your from the Underground.. and that maybe why you would rather paid out money to one person than ask all of us for our combine knowledge and keep your simple site secret.

    All I'm saying the infinite amount of brain power available here for free might get you an answer faster and more better than spending money.

    Nope.. nothing secret going on here..

    I do appreciate everyone's help. I just figured that I could get one individual to offer assistance rather then have 10 different suggestions from multiple people. I would rather pay someone for their expertise and get more of a one on one.. however, I will post my site here and basically I just want to center something in the right column ( a script , well a couple ) and I have tried to text-center I have tried to style and I have tried inline css etc... I just cannot get the scripts centered due to the fact that the code is not mine and I used the 15 minute responsive website download from 1stweb. I have redone it completely to learn, but the css is way out there for me to optimize, so.. that is why I was asking someone to clean it up and get my page the way I want since I can' figure out that part.

    The code I want added is in the page, just commented out.

    I can get it to center, but I cannot get it to center on tablet or phones as it just moves based on browser size..

    Stephen, go to a file named new.css in the stylesheets folder. It's short. Find at the end of it this:
    Code:
    .scriptcenter {
    	display: block;
    	margin: 30px 0px 20px 38px;
    	text-align: center;
    }
    Change that to:
    Code:
    .scriptcenter {
    	display: block;
    	width: 230px;
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	text-align: center;
    }
    This will keep the right column elements centered at all browser widths.

    Is this wat you want?

    You are the man!

    I was close, but I just could not figure it out.. Damn! Thanks for looking at it and seeing my mistake.. really appreciated.. On a side note "am I using the proper code in my page for that area? Instead of using a break should I add the pixel to the top of the margin in the new.css instead? or are breaks okay?

    If you see anything else that is incorrect I appreciate the criticism... I created that new.css just for the reason, to fix any issues I ran into or override the other css files. Wanted to eventually get to the foundation.css and re write that to clean up and figure out exactly what is in there and needed/not needed. More of an optimization.

    Thanks so much for your help and fixing that issue.. really.. now I need to look at the code you offered and once again go over exactly what it is doing.. I was thinking about specifying a pixel width, but using four_columns at 33% I had not figured out what the pixel width was. sorry about that.

    Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!!!!

    Kind regards,
    Stephen

    What I did:
    You used margin: 30px 0px 20px 38px; to center the div. That moves it left 38px from the left border. Works when the right column is small in comparison to the page.
    When the magic page width goes to 767px(for phones) the containing div expands to 767px and the left 38px does not work.
    I gave the problem div a width and use margin: 0 auto; which works no matter what the containing div width is.
    =========================

    What I would do at the 767 point:
    Place your picture at the top of the page! To do this the menu, which is now vertical, needs a width also needs a placement. Maybe to the right. Then the blog div even with the text and to the text right. Just a guess.
