    sidebar list styling

    working on setting up my Dad's blog for him and I want to style the right sidebar lists for "Categories, Recent Comments, Recent Posts, Archives" like the ones done on this blog (http://www.ino.com/blog/)

    the url for my dad's is http://www.musicofthemarket.com/

    I am using a theme called techozoic and have tried to find the right code snippet to over ride on my child theme, but so far every one I have tried as not worked...also tried to figure it out off the code source for the page I am trying to emulate, again no joy. The main thing I can't figure out is the horizontal bars under each line...all help is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.

    Hello LavenderRose,
    You should get FireBug for FireFox.
    With firebug, you can click on an element or text in that (http://www.ino.com/blog/) and it will show you every bit of CSS that styles it to look the way it does.
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

    been there, tried that, but I am not seeing anything in the code that accounts for the horizontal bars between each line

    On that page you'd like to copy,
    Code:
    .sidebar.widget-area ul li, #footer-widgets ul li {
        border-bottom: 1px solid #DDDDDD;
        list-style-type: none;
        margin: 0 0 10px;
        padding: 0 0 10px;
        word-wrap: break-word;
    }

    Oh no! I think that's because working on these blog themes is such a pain in the ***. There's a lot of smart people here at codingforums.com though - you're in the right place!

    Sorry to say it didn't work....I just don't understand what I am doing wrong...I am not a total dunce at this stuff, but I just can't seem to get the right combination to override the parent code...any more suggestions?? Because unfortunately I am a stubborn fool and will NOT give up !! LOL
