So I'm trying to learn how to embed video into html and am running into a VERY frustrating problem. Looking at the source code for both the example from w3c and my page, I see absolutely no difference...

except the w3c code will play and mine won't. Both are Youtube embeds. I just don't understand. Someone help before I lose more hair.

Here's the code (that doesn't work)
[CODE]<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<body>
<embed
width="420" height="345"
src="http://youtu.be/x9IxRdMdZMU"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
</embed>
</body>
</html>[CODE]

Here's the w3c example (which works when I paste it into my page:
[CODE]
<embed
width="420" height="345"
src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XGSy3_Czz8k"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash">
</embed>[CODE]
