Exclamation All website links are suddenly not working in Google Chrome

    Hi Folks,

Here is the link to my website : http://www.oliviergougeon.com/

So I just noticed this morning that all the links on my website don't work anymore when I use Google Chrome. This is very strange since my website has been running perfectly for two years and that I hadn't made any big changes since then.

The links include the one's in the menu and all the pictures that are acting as links when you click on them.

I did a quick verification and my website runs perfectly on Safari (the links work). So, did Google Chrome change something recently or am I just doing something wrong... ?!

I just noticed that some of the links on this page work : http://www.oliviergougeon.com/allphotos. But the links in the MENU bar still won't work...

Your help would be much appreciated since I really don't know what is causing this problem.

Here is the link to my CSS stylesheet : http://www.oliviergougeon.com/design.css

Thanks, anyone's help will be much appreciated.

Not working for me in Chrome either, and I just got a new version. Works on Opera and Firefox.

The code's a mess, with div's in the header, illegal JS syntax, etc. I think Chrome's just choking on trying to parse it right. Run in through the validator and fix the big things first.

    Thanks for your reply.

I will try to fix the code by using w3's validator. I know there is a lot of errors... I wrote that website 2 years ago all by myself just by getting my info off tutorials - which explains why it may not look legit...

But even though there is many errors, I still find strange that my website has been working fine for 2 years and that suddenly it won't work right.

Anyway, I'll get back to you when I've fixed my code.

    Hi everyone,

I have some new information that might help you guys to solve my problem.

So I created a new index page called "indextest". It can be reached here. I removed all the unnecessary stuff that made the code more complicated.

I made sure this new page passed the validator test for both HTML and CSS. You can see the HTML result here and the CSS result here.

So, fixing these errors did NOT fix the problem. All the links - image links and regular menu links - still won't work.

However, I found something interesting. When I remove the stylesheet link to my CSS sheet, ALL of the links work!!! I created a test page called "indextestnocss" to show you guys. It can be reached here.

So, I am starting to believe that it might be a CSS issues causing all this?

Thanks to all for helping, it is much appreciated.

It appears to be this line in your design.css file:
    Code:
    text-indent: -99999999px;
I'm not sure why, but some issue with css parsing, probably you can't have a number that big. Change it to -999 and all appears to work.

    Omg! It worked!
Thank you so much for your time, Dave.

I would have never found the problem myself. Like you said, it's weird that this little line was causing such a big issue on my whole website...

    Anyway, it all works now.
Once again, thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

    Cheers.

Haha, it really shows a lot that I'm French?! :P

And btw, how do I mark this thread as "Resolved" ? I couldn't find an option or something....

    Yes, of course!

I think you just edit the first post and change the title to include [resolved]. I'm not sure there's a more automated way of doing it.
