Question Making a Picture Slideshow on a Web Page

Okay I realize making a slideshow on a web page is relatively simple, but I'm looking for something that's pretty complex and I have no idea how to even start it. I basically want to mimic the functionality of the Windows 7 pictures library that I have, but on a web page. By this I mean I want to have pictures stored on a page and be able to select any of the pictures I desire, and then be able to play a full screen slideshow of the selected pictures.

Is this even possible? And if it is, how can it be done and what's the best way to start it? I was planning on using tumblr to do this but I could always use a free website builder to do it if it would be possible. I'm not skilled with html but if you could provide some sort of basic template for me to follow that would be ideal because I should be able to adjust it to my needs. Thanks!

Are these pictures on a server, or a home computer? There's an enourmous difference in what you can do, and how to do it depending on the answer to this question.

They're on a home computer, I'm trying to permanently move the pictures from my computer's storage to the internet and I want to make a web page to host them. I just don't want to lose the functionality of the windows slideshow, if that's somehow possible.

Here, take this one, just substitute your own javascript array for the imagelist, but keep the name. Images must be in same folder. Best viewed fullscreen, F11.
