CSS Texturing background looks ugly help!

Hey - I'm trying to make this texture background look like a old piece of paper. I have a header image and footer image and a texture image repeating.. any suggestions? Here is the website.

First we need to see the whole back ground image. All you have is the top of a piece of paper.

Use Firefox, right click on the background image, choose 'View background image'. One of several very important things Firefox gives developers.

The background shows to me as a 500x500 texture that repeats over the page. The top is a small transparent .png, I don't see the footer image.

As to the OPs problem, you could flatten or 'bleach' the image with any number of photo applications. Or simply find another background that you like. There are tons of textured backgrounds available.
