    Unhappy I need help! html in a Wordpress theme.

    Hello, I'm very aware that this might be the silliest thing I have done that that there is a better way to do this. Currently I have installed a theme that is working correctly but, as it usually goes, the client wants a major change to the front page that is NOT inlcuded in the original theme. I have created a kind of work around and just need a fix for line breaking.

    So to be more specific. I'm writing this code all in the "Front Page Settings" area of the Theme Appearances tab. I can provide screenshots if needed.

    Everything is perfect, i'm aware that i have yet to input the other href urls so they don't go to the same place, but i need the left column to have tighter spacing between lines and i'm a little stuck. Is there any way for me to make these breaks between the href links smaller using inline code or a div tag i could put directly into this area? I know i'm not using <br> tags at all and that is currently automatic, probably in the css of the theme, but i'm worried if i were to change thatin the css to fix this page that the repurcussions throughout the site would add more work than needed.

    If you would like to view the homepage of this site it is: http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/

    The code i have is:

    <h1>In your <span>Interest...</span></h1>

    <style type="text/css">
    #wrap {
    margin:0 auto;
    #left_col {

    #right_col {

    <div id="wrap">
    <div id="left_col">

    <a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm"> <font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Firm</font></h3></a>

    <a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm"><font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Investment Advisory</font></h3></a>

    <a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm"><font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Fund Strategies</font></h3></a>

    <a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm"><font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Risk Managed Solutions for Advisors</font></h3></a>

    <a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm"><font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Library</font></h3></a>

    <a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm"><font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Contact Us</font></h3></a>

    <div id="right_col">

    <div style="width:3px;height:450px;background-color:white;float:left;"></div>

    <div style="padding-left: 20px;"><font color="FFFFFF"><h3>Headline for Paragraph</h3></font></div>

    <div style="padding-left: 20px;"> <font color="FFFFFF"><h4>This is a paragraph that will hangout on the right side detailing things that may be latest news or whatever. It needs to be longer so that i can see if it properly goes on to the next lines like it should. So here is me rambling about it being tested. </h4></font></div>

    Anyting would help and i'm more than happy to go into the actual css as long as i get the result i need. Sorry for my ignorance and thank you for your help.

    Your spacing is wonky because you have your links wrapped in a header tag <h3>. Only headers should be in a <h> tag. You should put your menu in a list. Something like this:

    <style type="text/css">
    ul#menu li a {
    color: #ffffff;
    ul#menu a:hover a:visited {

    <ul id="menu">
    <li><a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm">Firm</a></li>
    <li><a href="http://forefrontanalytics.com/Test/firm">Investment Advisory</a></li>

    as you can see I gave the list an id of "menu" so that you can style it without changing the style of any other lists you may have on your site.
    Note: if there are any id's using the name of "menu" it can mess things up. In that case, just change the id name to something else.

    I hope this helps.
