    Over-ride '.album img' Square Formatting

    I'm trying to display an image with an accompanying audio file, but the default ratio for the 'album art' on tumblr is square.

    Let me try and explain better.

    On tumblr (a blogging platform) you are given various different types of post (text, photo, audio etc). If I upload a photo using a 'photo' post, the image will display at the correct ratio.

    However, I would like to include an audio file with these photos, but the only way I can do this is to choose an 'audio' post, upload the song, and then use the 'Choose album art' option to include the accompanying image. The only problem with this method is that the 'album art' image is set to display with a square ratio, which is no use if I'm using an image from a film in a widescreen ratio.

    I can play with the code for the class "album .img" which is currently
    Code:
    album .img {width: 500px; height: auto;}
    If I change the height here to 238px (which would give the image it's correct ratio) it squashes it out of all proportion.

    What I'm asking here is: can I over-ride the default 'square ratio' for the album art, or is it something that's controlled on the tumblr server side?

    This is my test blog, with an image from the film Snatch. I uploaded this using the normal 'photo' post option, and this is how the image SHOULD look: http://sector04.tumblr.com/

    This is what happens when I use an 'audio' post and use the 'Choose album art' option to upload the same image: http://dotuk.tumblr.com

    Have you tried a photo post, for your image, and an audio post, leaving the audio post image blank?

    This looks like it should be asked in the tumblr forums.

    Thanks for the reply, sunfighter. What you suggest is okay, but it would result in two separate posts - a photo post and an audio post. I would like to include the film still and accompanying sound bite in the same post.

    Also, I didn't realise this forum had a tumblr section. Sorry.

    It doesn’t. But tumblr does.

    Ah, I see, but for the record they don't. Not a regular type of forum or one that's any use, put it that way. They have a FAQ page, but it's useless.

    Maybe I should start my own.

    Incidentally, I have nothing to do with the above 'bump' post and have no idea why ravazeihuic4 felt it necessary.
