    Bug with my floating side menu

    Hi everyone!

    I'm hand coding our website and though I'm not a complete newb, I am relatively inexperienced with CSS.

    So, my issue has to do with a floating side menu that I made. Everything seems to work just fine, but my code is generating a small white dot to the left of the menu.

    It's not a huge deal, but I'd like to fix the bug.

    The page can be viewed here:
    http://www.sfcrc.com
    http://www.sfcrc.com/aboutus.html

    It exists on every page where the side menu is implemented. When I remove the html for the side menu, the white spot disappears.

    I have a feeling it has something to do with how the browser is positioning the location of the side menu, relative to the other elements, but if I change the back ground of the side menu, it doesn't achieve what the end result i'm looking for.

    I'd be happy to share any code or information that would be helpful, but I hesitate to dump all my code, not because it's super secret or anything, but just because there's probably a lot of irrelevant stuff in there.

    Thank you for your attention, I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

    Hello iksfcrc,
    A better question would be why aren't the other list items showing a bullet.
    Get rid of it with this bit in highlighted in red -
    Code:
    ul {
        list-style: none;
        padding: 0;
    }
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

    Thanks Excavator!

    I was intentionally removing the bullets from that list, but I must have changed around my CSS and it may have broken something.

    Now that I know it's an extra bullet, it seems so obvious.
