So, I can handle Basic to Mid-Level HTML stuff. I've created simple HTML pages in the past for a website, nothing special.

I'm a writer, and I'd like to have information about the world I create set down on HTML pages, where I can view them and see the information presented in a neat and orderly sort of way. (The alternative is a bunch of .RTF files.)

I'd really like to find a way to do this similar to a code I used to have on Proboards, for some forums I worked with. That code was Javascript, but I'm hoping to find a way to do this with HTML. Or to find an editor that can help me. Or at worst, someone that can write the base code and I just put in some simple edits, like I did with the Proboards. (Such as which forms are available to fill out, whether it's a line, selection box, or a block of text.)

So it would be like this. An HTML form page, where you have predesignated fields of information. I'll use a Racial Template for an example.

Racial Name: <enter a line of text, up to 50 characters here>

[Table - Physical Characteristics]
Height Range: <enter a range for the min-max height of the race>
Weight Range: <enter a range for the min-max weight of the race>

Eye Colors: <enter the general range of eye colors for the race>
Skin Colors: <enter the general range of skin colors for the race>
[/table]

[Click here to Generate HTML Page]

Pretty rough example, but that is what the form would display.

On the underside, it would have -how- the form would use the information presented above.

So for Racial Name, it might look like:

Code:
<b>Racial Name:</b> [what you typed in the field goes here]
I'm not sure how to do this. I know how to write it by hand. And the painful way would be to write out the full template, then re-edit it by hand for each race....but when you have over 30 races, that can be very time consuming.

That's why I was looking for a way to just generate a Template Form, and use that to do the dirty work for me.

Please help. :-)
