    background-size wont work in IE 9

    I have a background image and am able to apply repeat properties just fine in IE but not size.

    here is my code:

    Code:
    .style34 {
    				border: 3px solid #740000;
    				text-align: center;
    				background-image: url('image.jpg');
                                    background-repeat: no-repeat;
    				background-size: 891px;
    }
    I cant think of anythiing else I can tell you about the problem. w3c and microsoft both state it works, I am not getting any result. I tried adding the property in IE inspector, but the property just disappears and nothing gets applied.

    Thanks for the help

    Hello surreal5335,
    That bit of code works fine in IE9 here. Could you have some other problem like a missing DocType?
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
