    Unhappy Problem with div attributes not being applied

    Hello,

    I'm trying to implement something like this to the headers and links in my Drop down menu, however, I can't even get the div to show...

    I've tried all sorts, and my friend doesn't know what is wrong either...

    At the top of the website, the div has been added below the body, where I've added text to, it's aligning center for some reason, and also on the first ul li of the menu.

    Best Regards,
    Tim

    I decided to change the name of the class to something random, to make sure I had not named this class already in any of my styles. The result was the same, so I then moved the style into my .html file and there was an improvement for the div at the top only.

    The Server/Live version still remains the same though.

    Bring the page up in Chrome.

    Use the Chrome developer tools.

    Click on the "Elements" tab.

    Find one of your <li> elements. Say the first one that has <a>Announcements</a>.

    Now look in the right panel of the tools and click on "Computed style".

    See (just for example...not sure what the culprit really is):
    float: none;
    position: relative;
    top: auto;
    left: auto;
    I *suspect* that float is the problem, but I don't know for sure, at all.

    But this is the kind of tool you need to use to get a handle on what all your CSS is actually doing.

    Thank you.

    I was basically entering more css into the wrong section of my file and I am on track in implementing the icons to the menu now.

    Best Regards,
    Tim
