    The <q> and <blockquote> Elements

Do people actually use them? I understand that to do so is considered semantic and in keeping with meaningful, structured code, but I was wondering how useful this actually is - does it really make that much of a difference, and is it really worth doing?

If you do use it, how do you get around the problem of rendering the quote to display how you want it to, not how browsers will individually render them?

I’m using them if there are quotes to mark up. Usually they are block quotes and rarely inline quotes (that would rather be something for essays or a thesis or something like that). If you have, for example, press quotes about a product, or testimonials about something or someone, you would use blockquote elements.

You use CSS, as with everything. E. g.: http://css-tricks.com/examples/Blockquotes/
