So I have a very simple slideshow. All I want is to layer a textbox over the slideshow (with the textbox info being completely independent from the slideshow, so I can switch colors or info however I please).

I'm sure this can be done with just HTML/CSS, just haven't figured out how yet.

Here's the HTML:

Code:
<div id="container">

		<div id="example">

			<div id="slides">

				<div class="slides_container">

					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/jliba/4665625073/" title="145.365 - Happy Bokeh Thursday! | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-1.jpg" width="100%" alt="Slide 1"></a>
						<div class="caption" style="bottom:0">
							<p>Happy Bokeh Thursday!</p>
						</div>
					</div>
					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/stephangeyer/3020487807/" title="Taxi | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-2.jpg" alt="Slide 2"></a>
						<div class="caption">
							<p>Taxi</p>
						</div>
					</div>
					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/childofwar/2984345060/" title="Happy Bokeh raining Day | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-3.jpg" alt="Slide 3"></a>
						<div class="caption">
							<p>Happy Bokeh raining Day</p>
						</div>
					</div>
					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/b-tal/117037943/" title="We Eat Light | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-4.jpg" alt="Slide 4"></a>
						<div class="caption">
							<p>We Eat Light</p>
						</div>
					</div>
					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/bu7amd/3447416780/" title="&ldquo;I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky; and all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.&rdquo; | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-5.jpg" alt="Slide 5"></a>
						<div class="caption">
							<p>&ldquo;I must go down to the sea again, to the lonely sea and the sky...&rdquo;</p>
						</div>
					</div>
					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/streetpreacher/2078765853/" title="twelve.inch | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-6.jpg" alt="Slide 6"></a>
						<div class="caption">
							<p>twelve.inch</p>
						</div>
					</div>
					<div class="slide">
						<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/aftab/3152515428/" title="Save my love for loneliness | Flickr - Photo Sharing!" target="_blank"><img src="img/slide-7.jpg" alt="Slide 7"></a>
						<div class="caption">
							<p>Save my love for loneliness</p>
						</div>
					</div>

				</div>

			</div>
		</div>
			</div>
Here's the CSS:

Code:
#container {
	width:100%;
	z-index:0;
}

#example {
	width:100%;
	height:650px;
	position:relative;
}

#slides {
	position:absolute;
	top:15px;
	left:4px;
	z-index:100;
}

.slides_container {
	width:100%;
	overflow:hidden;
	position:relative;
	display:none;
}

.slides_container div.slide {
	width:950px;
	height:570px;
	display:block;
}

.slides_container a {
	width:950px;
	height:570px;
	display:block;
}

.slides_container a img {
	display:block;
}

/*
	Next/prev buttons*/

#slides .next,#slides .prev {
	position:absolute;
	top:107px;
	left:-39px;
	width:24px;
	height:43px;
	display:block;
	z-index:101;
}

#slides .next {
	left:585px;
}
