Transfer Dreamweaver MX site to CS3, font code corruption

I have an HTML website developed in Dreamweaver MX. I migrated to CS3 in the hope it would work with Windows 7. It generally seems to.

However, for some reason, I can no longer specify fonts correctly when adding NEW text. Existing Text is OK. Changing the setting in "preferences" has no effect.

Below is a sample of the code. The whole page is like this, every page. I select Verdana and Times over-rides.

Could be a bit messy, since I am not a proficient coder, and have been invoking work-arounds in design view, like starting in the middle of a correctly formatted text block, then cutting and pasting the type elsewhere.

Can someone please explain how and where this issue originated?

Is there any fix that does not require rebuilding the entire website?

Could it be that CS3 has replaced a font declaration with some CSS styles (as it should be done) which are overriding the font elements (which shouldn’t be used anymore anyway). Please show us your entire HTML code.
