    Possible to link an entire page?

    Hi all...

    I have a modal page, with a small table in it and a bit of text. Is it possible to make the entire modal page a link so if you click anywhere in the window it takes you to a certain URL?

    address is here...

    thanks!

    Yes there is.

    But it is such a BAD behaviour.

    If user for instance is looking at a page and the viewport for some reason have lost focus, they usually click in the viewport to get focus, in order to be able to scroll the page.

    If there then is no neutral areas on the page they can't do so.

    Or if a user want to google a word on your page , which is mostly done by selecting the words the want to google, and use the context menu option search for word with Google.

    How should they be able to do this if they are unable to select the text, because any mouse action in the viewport redirects them.

    I can give several more bad examples, but I cannot see any legitimate use for it.

    The page behind the modal page is going to be defunct. Currently, they want anyone viewing the modal page to click anywhere on the page to go onto the new site. No major conspiracy theory, just a simple redirect.

    if you want to redirect them but inform them first,
    why nto jsut include a link in the modal content, thats says click here to be forwarded to the new page!, with a link?

    worst case scenario you could do something like

    Code:
    <table onclick="window.location.href=http://myothersite.com">

    </table>

    Sorry, the onclick for the table didn't work.

    I want to make sure they do go to the new site, not just merely click the modal box to close it and remain on the old site which is being dismantled. Then they'd really be lost. The only other thing I could think of would be a redirect on the modal window itself.....but again, I don't want anyone to get lost if they close the modal window before it redirects.

    Possibly something in the CSS for the modal window that any click will redirect?

    So the "old site" will be gone, and a new site will be taking it's place?

    Why not use a 301 redirect? Visitors typing in your old IP, or old IP bookmarks would automatically be taken to your new site IP address.
