    footer not staying a footer

    I'm trying to work on a fluid design with a footer that stays at the bottom.

    Somewhere along the way, I've lost my mind trying to get that footer to stay at the bottom. Something's pushing up, and I can't seem to figure out where to change something.

    The page is sitting at: http://www.patrickmediagroup.com/tester6.html

    Any suggestions would be great!

    Hi,

    Just had a look at your site. In my browser - I am using Firefox 7.0.1 on Linux - the footer looks OK ( on the right place ). Is it possible, that this could be a browser specific problem. Do you have any error messages in your Error Console ?

    oh dear table layout :|
    finding it hard to see "where" that big background is coming from. Is that background in some nested cell? I didn't see it on the body....
    regardless the first thing I would try is you have this
    Code:
    <container>
      <header></header>
      <main></main>
      <footer></footer>
    </container>
    move that footer outside the container and give the container a negative margin bottom WRT the footer's height...
    eg
    Code:
    <container>
      <header></header>
      <main></main>
    </container>
    <footer></footer>
    .....
    #container{
    ...style...
    margin-bottom: -100px;
    }
    #footer{
    ... style...
    height:100px;
    }
    *note I didn't feel like writing <div... a bunch of times so (I'm sure you can deduce) the <name> tag sets are for div's

    I code C hash-tag .Net

    Validate: html CSS
    Debug: Chrome FireFox IE
