    weird float alignment issues

    how come the 3 sections in the middle of this page are staggered down instead of all horizontally aligned? I have a float:left on them all and the wrapper has a clear:left. what am i missing?

    please advise. thanks in advance.

    try putting overflow:auto on the wrapper and take off the clear or take off the clear on the wrapper and create a new class .clear{clear:both;}
    and then after the last div you want to float clear it by putting this <p class="clear"></p>

    take the <br> out between the blurbs to remove the spaces on the top!

    also, the clear needs to be right below the floated objects! (shown in the picture)

    I wish I could but this WordPress theme I'm using is doing some funky things and inserting them. In the control panel section for this theme, there's an input area where I add in all the text I want to appear there. But I've thrown in some HTML along with just the text. Here's what I have...

    Code:
    <div class="blurb">
      <h2>Corporate Events</h2>
      <p>Jonathan Blair is available for private evetns of all kinds. More introductory sentences about private events will go here. Yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada...</p>
      <p>(<a href="/wordpress/private-events/">Read More</a>)</p>
    </div>
    <div class="blurb">
      <h2>Private Events</h2>
      <p>Jonathan Blair creates the ideal magic presentations for your corporate events, from corporate outings to product launches. More intro sentences about corporate events go here. Yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada yada...</p>
      <p>(<a href="/wordpress/corporate-events">Read More</a>)</p>
    </div>
    <div class="blurb">
      <h2>Kids Parties</h2>
      <p>Blair Kids Magic has several shows to meet your magical entertainment needs. Whether you are planning a child's birthday party, family celebration, school event or fundraiser, or corporate event, Blair Kids Magic has the right show to fit your needs...</p>
      <p>(<a href="/wordpress/kids-parties">Read More</a>)</p>
    </div>
    So all those br's are somehow getting auto populated. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Never used wordpress before

    Google is your friend!

    wordpress inserting br tags

    After all this, if you still have a problem, I would recommend posting a new thread about the problem. People tend to not answer threads without 0 posts!

    Log into your site with a FTP client I use fireftp http://fireftp.mozdev.org/ and then go into your wp-content folder from there go into your theme folder and then into the theme you are using. Find the file that says index.php and edit it with a text editor I use notepad++ I think you will be able to take out those <br> tags from that file but it just depends on how the theme developer did it
