    Too Big to Download?

I have a website that features a gemstone collection and also offers a dvd of pictures of the gems for sale. My dad wants the collected images to be downloadable, but the overall size of the images is 942MB. Is this too big for a downloadable file? If so, is there some way to get around this size limitation? What would be the normal maximum size for a downloadable file?

    Thanks.

942MB is absolutely huge, IMO. I'm a photographer and I provide downloadable hi-rez images at about 300-400KB per image - these are about 2400px square. 942MB would equate to around 2000 of my hi-rez images. Is that about how many you have on the DVD?

I don't know what the max size should be to not loose too many customers, but I'd guess 10-20MB is "big" for a fair number of folks. Perhaps you can package it into groupings of images rather than one enormous zip file or however it's currently stored?
