    data URIs in IE7

I’m currently trying to get base64 encoded images in a stylesheet working in IE 7 and it doesn’t seem to work. Even the example on http://www.phpied.com/files/mhtml/mhtml-fixed.html which is supposed to demonstrate the IE 7 workaround doesn’t work in my IE (neither version 7 or 6), it shows no background at all. Now, I only have Windows XP on a virtual machine here so could anybody with a real Windows computer look at the above example with IE 7 and tell me whether or not this is working? So I can at least exclude the error on my side.

agree with Teed; additional FYI that may be of use to you
It works fine with IE8 and IE9 however IE9 compat view it does not (which it shouldn't if IE7 does not)

Edit: I didn't know Teed, if you, had Win7 IE9 to test the other 3 or not

    I code C hash-tag .Net
    Reference: W3C W3CWiki .Net Lib
    Validate: html CSS
    Debug: Chrome FireFox IE

So – It turns out that this functionality has been “removed” with a Windows security update, after reading a comment of “sbrudenell” on http://www.phpied.com/the-proper-mhtml-syntax/. That sucks!

    Back to the drawing board.
