I'm testing some coding I found at http://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/c...owser-opacity/ to add an transparent overlay to a website. It seems to be working fine with firefox. But in IE 8 it doesn't seem to work, the bar seems to be all black.

Anyone who can help me out here?

ps. I hope this coding is cross browser, I've searched a long time for it.

Code:
<html>

<head>
<title>Transparent Overlay Demo</title>
</head>

<body style="background: orange;">

<div style="background:#000;
opacity: .75; /* standard: ff gt 1.5, opera, safari */
-ms-filter: “alpha(opacity=75)”; /* ie 8 */
-ms-filter:”progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=75)”; // first
filter: alpha(opacity=75); // second
-khtml-opacity: .75; /* safari 1.x */
-moz-opacity: .75; /* ff lt 1.5, netscape */ ">

	</div>
</body>

</html>
