Updates to webpage not showing right away

I notice when I make changes to my website then upload the files to the web server. I open a web browser to view the changes on the site and they don’t show up. When I click the refresh button on the browser then I can see the changes. Would there be some type of Java or PHP script that could solve this problem?

Browsers cache images and files and only update them if it recognises that they have been changed. It seems the browser is not recognising that your pages have been updated.

You could clear the cache within the browser or there may be a browser cache setting that you can adjust.

There may be a php header or directive that notifiies the browser that the page has changed, but i don't know enough about PHP currently. Andy.
