Do I need CSS in AJAX?

I have a simple header, footer, CSS3 menu and an iframe main page.
The menu uses the iframe target for all subsequent pages.

    1. Do I need a CSS object for each iframe page or will it use the CSS for the main page?

    2. Is there a good simple CSS3 layout that is elastic in length and uses percentages for width. I have looked at many. They seem overly complicated.

CSS is a descriptive language. It describes the presentation, thus it can not have objects.

A layout has no "length" it might have a width and a height.

And what about that AJAX related question in your title?

Can you re-form your questions using the proper terms, please?

Please substitute "code" for "object" and "height" for "length".

I guess it isn't AJAX when:
    <li><a href="Tribune/WhyTexas.php" target="iframe" title="Why Texas">Why Texas</a></li>: is clicked, but rather HTML.

To rephrase the question -- does WhyTexas.php inherit the CSS from the calling program?

No. Documents loaded in iframe must have their own CSS, as they are independent complete HTML structures.
