    Help with Vertical Menu

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the multi level menu on the left of this page is done and where i could find something like it. Does it use java or pure css?

    Thanks
    Peter

    Not Right!!!!!!!!!

I thanked before I checked your link thinking it would be something helpful which of couse it was not. I should have known having looked at someone elses posting earlier in the week to see the same gag. Shame because it was yet another wasted post on this forum which I had searched and thought may be useful to learn from.

Whilst i'd imagine that forums are filled with people impatient and dont search properly for things trust me I have found nothing like this complex multi level menu in over three days of searching.

Thankfully I have had help on other things from more useful members.

If we have any ideas of suggestions as to how i could make this menu I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Peter

    far2many,

I apologize if my recent post offended you in any way. I was only trying to make you laugh. Have you tried searching for a tree menu??

i was just about to post a topic about this. lol.
im looking for a tutorial on how to make a horizontal drop down navigation bar. i can download the source code for dozens of them but i dont fully understand how they work or how its made. id rather learn how it works so i can make it myself instead of having to edit source codes and being confused about it. could anybody help me out?

    Vertical Menu

    Im ok, just wasnt helpful.

I have searched hundreds of sites looking at code. I can make a menu but i dont understand how his works it seems to reload the menu as a display list which appears to be expanded? Is this the case? How can it be duplicated.

Searched tree menus, vertical, accordian, expanding, purecss menus, css and java (rather not do this) etc

far2many, I'm kind of confused which menu you are wanting to copy. There is no vertical menu on the side of this page... Can you give a link to the page you're talking about?

    metathirteen,
Menus can be difficult enough without diving in to a dropdown menu right off. I don't know of any specific tutorial but I haven't googled around for one either. I think it would be best to have a more advanced understanding of HTML/CSS so that you would understand better what you're looking at when you "edit those source codes".
There are LOT of menus here to take apart.
Maybe a tutorial here that will work for you? Google finds a lot more.
Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
