    Problem with fluid div

    I have a fluid layout I believe. http://www.puddypaws.co.uk/appeals.html but the page is not expanding with the rest of the inner box.

    I cant figure out why, is it because of the short content I dont know? I really dont know what I am doing with fluid layouts but they are better for standards, so want to do them.

    appreciate anyones help with this

    Hello quartzy,
    Do you mean your #main_textarea?

    For float to work you need to give it a width.
    If you want #main_textarea to be full width, why float it? We float things to put other things beside them.

    Does this help?
    Code:
    #main_textarea {
    /*float:left;*/
    position: relative;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

    Re

    That is brilliant, it all works I never thought that adding float would cause such a problem. Thanks so much.
