    CSS problems in IE - need help

    Hi

    I am a noob using Dreamweaver CS3 to put together a simple site for my wife. All was well until today. The site looks fine in FF and Chrome, but everything shifts to the left in IE.

    I can't figure it and need help. What have I done wrong ?

    the site is vteexpert.org.

    I would appreciate any help and thanks in advance.

    Wow, you have quite a few issues. Most important is somehow you have not declared a doctype. If you're using dreamweaver as you say, it should have done that for you. Nonetheless, here is a transitional doctype:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
    I also didnt see an opeing <head> tag. Please validate your code here.

    Hi

    Thank you so very much. I know it seems basic to you, but this is new and a little overwhelming to me. I have learned something new and I am so grateful to you for your help.

    If you're using Dreamweaver, when you create a new document, always do it using <File <new

    then select what type of document to create..ie html, php, coldfusion.

    That way it puts a valid doctype in automatically.
