How to tile or repeat a non background image with css

    Hello,

I would like to tile or repeat an image using css. But there is a twist! I cannot use background-image:url() (and background-repeat) in this particular code.

Can anyone think of a way to solve this puzzle?

    Thanks,
    Tom

I can think of two ways. Putting multiple instances of the img tag inside a properly sized div and floating them all right or left. the other way is to absolutely position them inside the div.

is this because you have already used a background image? because it is possible to code to have multiple background images and position them, repeat/no repeat, etc...

I can try floating a few versions of the image, that just might work. The application that I working within doesn't allow background images due to security reasons.

    *cough* Outlook 2007/10 *cough*

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...ice.12%29.aspx <-- checkout the unsupported css list

    It doesn't support float either...

I guess its time to give up.

Ok wait. are you saying you are creating html in Microsoft Outlook? or even Word?

Why not pull your code over to notepad, then you wouldnt have to worry about non supported elements.

I'm developing at application that emails our internal and external users various information. We all are using Outlook 2K7. I was hoping to style the email in CSS but I am going to end up using HTML tables.
