    Question How can I close space underneath a horizontal menu bar?

    Hi folks, I would be very grateful if somebody might be able to help me with this problem. I am more of a digital designer (hobbyist) than "coder" and tend to just make my graphics fit the code that is already there. I am trying to learn html & css...but the progress has been frustratingly slow so far.

    The problem I have is that I have "inherited" a blog template from a friend and I have adapted this to suit another blog. Everything looked fine until the menu bar buttons were added...and then a gap appeared between the menu bar and the main template.

    I have tried everything that I can think of...and I'm sure the answer is really simple..to you . However it is driving me insane .

    Please be kind to me...I'm still learning and this is really the first time I've tried to do something different. I would be so grateful if I could get rid of this gap. Thanks so much.

    Add
    Code:
    .widget-content{ /* to rectify the centering issue of the tabs when float applied */
    width:962px;
    margin:0 auto;
    }
    .widget-content a img{
    float:left; /* the key idea is to change the images display property to block. */
    }
    into your CSS

    Woo hoo! It worked, thank you so so much, I really appreciate it.

    I have looked everywhere (including my books) for help with that. After 2 days of searching, I thought it might be time I asked an expert LOL.

    Actually, I was typing you to ask for a link to your page and then made a search by typing the blog title in the given image.

    FYI, that one is really a mysterious gap !

    Ok I think I *get* it now...though my head is about to explode with all the things I'm having to learn . I'm really enjoying the actual design side of things but really struggling with the code. It doesn't help that I have a short term memory problem...meaning everything takes like 10 times longer to sink in. Argh! Oh well, I guess I'll get there in the end. After years of just making designs to fit a specific template, I thought it was really time that I learnt how to write my own! I got a great book, which helps, but some of it still just goes right over my head.
