iframe issue in Internet Explorer only

    Hi Guys,
I have a problem in IE8 with opening webpages within the iframe. It works fine in firefox but inrnet explorer just opens the page outside the iframe all the time.
Any ideas of how to fix this for cross browser compatibility?
    Thanks

    This is my code:

    <IFRAME height=700 src="vsogallery/index.php" frameBorder=0 width=900 target="_self"> </IFRAME>

    i also tried

    <IFRAME height=700 src="vsogallery/index.php" name="test" frameBorder=0 width=900 target="test"> </IFRAME>

Possibly an IE8 security setting or a code conflict specific to IE8 with javascript. Any ideas guys? I have tried compatibility mode on and off in ie8 but no joy

Dunno if this helps at all, but I'm having a similar problem.

I'm loading multiple search engine nginer.com into an iframe as part of a tutorial on search engines.

It works great in every browser except IE8 which reports "Access is denied" referencing a javascript page coming from Google.

Nginer itself is loading search results into an iframe, so it's a bit like Russian dolls.

I've decided not to spend any more time on it; I'm just going to link to the page instead.

Why have you even got a target attribute on your iframe tag, it doesn't accept this attribute, therefore i'm unsure on exactly what you are trying to achieve here...but it sounds as if you want it something like this:

    Code:
    <iframe src="vsogallery/index.php" width="900" height="700" frameborder="0" name="iframe"></iframe>
Don't forget to wrap attribute values around quotes as this could also cause problems..

Then when you want to load different content into the iframe you'd have your link setup like this:

    Code:
    <a href="content.html" target="iframe" />Link Text</a>
