Question regarding the height of a DIV Tag

Can I force the height of the DIV tag to be set to '0'. The problem that I am facing is that adding a div tag to display or hide some text is causing vertical spacing issues as there are multiple div tags one below the other.

Can't you just hide them by setting display:none; in style/css ?

You can, but abduraooft's solution seems to be a better way of doing things.
