    Background won't load in IE7-8

    http://www.franciscossette.com/

    The orange boxes on the left column don't load their background in IE7 or 8, and for some reason, the glowing menu effect don't work either.

    I'm using transparent PNG for the menu, I thought IE8 could handle them?

    Everything shows OK in FF and the CSS validates, so I am at a loss here.

    I really hate Internet Explorer!

    After some experimentation, I think that adding:

    Code:
    <style type="text/css">
    .Lcol {
    background: url(http://www.franciscossette.com/img/smalltbl_bg.png) repeat-y 0% 0%;
    }
    </style>
    to the <head> of your page (after: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="stylefc.css" /> ) may solve the problem.

    It solved the problem in a local copy I made of your page.

    Please don't ask me why this works. I have not a clue.

    I share your sentiments about IE.

    Code:
    .Lcol {
    	width: 255px;
    	background:url(img/smalltbl_bg.png)top left repeat-y;
    	padding: 0;
    	margin: 0;
    	color: #ffffff;
    	font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    	font-size:12px;
    	border: 0px red dotted;

    }
    You'd need to add a space after the closing brace of url(), before top.

    wow, a small space enough to break the whole thing!

    Thanks, it worked!

    Now, any idea why the transparent PNG shows well for the menu on hovering, but IE8 shows weird artifacts?
