How to use CSS to style a Drop Down Box or Button?

I am trying to style a Drop Down Box and a Button with CSS, but I can not find all of the CSS References to do it.

If someone could please help me, or give me all of the references to do it, it would be helpful.

I know what "background: and color:" do, but I can't find out what the over references are to change the style...
