    Question Content box with gradient border and pattern issue

    Hello,
    I tried to code the following content box, but did not succeeded with this task.

    The shadow on the left and the right border of the content box has a gradient and pattern, which goes fluently into the background, which also has a pattern, but no gradient. The resizing of the browser window doesn't cause a pattern shifting between shadow and background.

    I tried to code this with a table and div tag, I played with the cell width, cell background, background position and the repeat parameter - the result was a complete disaster

    I am not asking for complete problem solution, but only for problem solving directions. Any help is thankfully accepted

    Resolved:

    Well, I tried it again, and this time it worked:

    PHP Code:
    .centercontent {

    background-color#FFF;

    padding0px;

    width400px;

    margin-top0px;

    margin-right0px;

    margin-bottom0px;

    margin-left: -200px;

    positionrelative;

    left50%;
    }
    .
    left {

    background-imageurl(boxleft.jpg);

    background-repeatrepeat-y;

    background-positionright top;

    margin0px;

    padding0px;

    width158px;

    positionrelative;

    right100%;
    }
    .
    leftbgr {

    background-imageurl(mainbgrborder.jpg);

    background-repeatrepeat;

    background-positionright top;
    }
    .
    rightbgr {

    background-imageurl(mainbgrborder.jpg);

    background-repeatrepeat;

    background-positionleft top;
    }
    .
    right {

    background-imageurl(boxright.jpg);

    background-repeatrepeat-y;

    background-positionleft top;

    margin0px;

    padding0px;

    width158px;

    left0%;

    PHP Code:
    <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
      <
    tr>
        <
    td class="leftbgr">&nbsp;</td>
        <
    td class="left">&nbsp;</td>
        <
    td class="centercontent"><p>Some content</p>
        <
    p>&nbsp;</p></td>
        <
    td class="right">&nbsp;</td>
        <
    td class="rightbgr">&nbsp;</td>
      </
    tr>
    </
    table

    Hello ivailoi,
    This could probably be done pretty easily with nested divs instead of tables. See the link in my sig about tables.

    Can we get linked to the test site so your images are available?
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
