    IE PNG Fix

    Hi guys,

    Using Twin Helix method of calling behaviour in IE using an .htc file and am finding it impossible to use I think.

    Don't know if the file is being called in IE6 and have tried placing an alert in the .htc file to see if it is called and nothing happens.

    Can post some code but generally just doing what it says on the tin.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hi Abd,

    Seeking the help to figure out of the file is being called and if it is then why the PNG files are not being displayed correctly in IE6

    I use a combined solution. The steps are:

    1. I use background images written in CSS for some DIVs (not IMG files). For instance: in the CSS "standard" external file code (let's say the file css/standard.css):
    Code:
    .myclass{
    width:100px;
    height:100px;
    background:url(../img/myimage.png) no-repeat 0 0;
    }
    2. In a separate CSS file (let's say the file css/ie6.css), I use some special IE6 fix codes (using the IE filter property). For instance:
    Code:
    .myclass{
    filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImageLoader(enabled=true, sizingMethod=scale, src='img/myimg.png');
    background:none;
    }
    3. As I said, I use two external CSS files and I must care for the loading sequence. As we all knew, in IE the last loaded CSS rules overwrite the first one, thus I need to load the IE6 fix CSS external file as the last one.

    4. I use a JScript detector for IE6:
    Code:
    <link href="css/standard.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    <!--[if lte IE 6]>
    <link href="css/ie6.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
    <![endif]-->

    Hi Kor, Thanks for the info, already used that hack on other sites but wanted to see how the .htc system worked.

    No one else have any tips or advice on using Twin Helix - site?
