    Indents, justifications, and numbered lists

    Hello

    I have a page online here:

    http://stevehigham59.7host.com/ImageTest//page1.html

    The page will not be uploaded to a server, but will be put on a CD.

    About three paragraphs from the top there is an indented paragraph which begins 'Students have peer-to-peer (P2P....' followed by two other indented paragraphs.

    I am using this to indent the paragraphs: .tab { margin-left: 40px; }

    What I would like to do is indent the paragraph and justify the text all in one (I have used justify elsewhere using <p align="justify">.

    Finally, it would look better if the three paragraphs were numbered 1, 2, and 3, but when I try

    Code:
    <ol>
    <li>Item one</li>
    <li> Item two</li>
    <li> Item three</li>
    </ol>
    I cannot see any numbered items - I may be using a corrupt version of IE6.

    Many thanks for any help.

    Validation might help this case:

    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...Inline&group=0

    I'm not normally a person who is 'make it validate or no help' but when it comes to ol's and p tags etc you really need to make it validate to avoid qwerks mode in IE6. Firefox is quite forgiving but IE6 is just retarded without standards compliance (ish)

    Hello

    Thanks for your reply.

    Many of the invalidations are not invalidations at all - the script works and, as I say, these pages will never see a server.

    I have, however, changed UL/OL and LI to lower case and made one or two other corrections, but then I manged to use a numbering sequence without the <ol> tags.

    I am still stuck on how to justify the text within an indented paragraph, though.

    Cheers again.

    The fact that the pages will never see a server doesn't matter. They're still going to be rendered by a browser and validation is still important if you want things to look the same across browsers.
