    Smile Embedding Simpleviewer into Flash html

    This should be simple, here's what is happening:

    http://www.madwomandiary.com/

    and I'd obviously like the simpleviewer slideshow to go in the middle of the webpage :P

    I can't figure out where in the html to past the code... I typed on the webpage in flash "SIMPLEVIEWER_SLIDESHOW_HERE" to placemark where the code should go in the html but it's not working.

    Could someone please help ?? greatly appreciated.

    (also I think the thumbnails are messed up because I had to change the index.html from the simpleviewer html to index1.html so my host folder would recognize the flash html as the main loading page)

    Here's my code: (thanks for any help!)

    <HTML>
    <HEAD>

    <script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>

    <meta http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <TITLE>mainpage</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY bgcolor="#FFFFFF">
    <!-- URL's used in the movie-->
    <!-- text used in the movie-->

    <div id="flashcontent">SimpleViewer requires JavaScript and the Flash Player.
    <a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/">Get Flash.</a></div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var fo = new SWFObject("viewer.swf", "viewer", "700", "500", "8", "#181818");
    fo.write("flashcontent");
    </script>

    <OBJECT classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
    codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
    WIDTH="850" HEIGHT="800" id="mainpage" ALIGN="">
    <PARAM NAME=movie VALUE="mainpage.swf"> <PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high> <PARAM NAME=bgcolor VALUE=#FFFFFF> <EMBED src="mainpage.swf" quality=high bgcolor=#FFFFFF WIDTH="850" HEIGHT="800" NAME="mainpage" ALIGN=""
    TYPE="application/x-shockwave-flash" PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></EMBED>
    </OBJECT>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    You will need to edit the fla file for mainpage.swf and then you will need to use loadMovie or something like that to get the movie to play there. If you don't have the fla file for mainpage.swf then you'll have to do other stuff that may or may not be more complicated.

    Embedding Simpleviewer

    Thanks for the response but I tried putting a "load movie" action in the middle of the flash webpage and put the "viewer.swf" file that simpleviewer exports... then republishing.. but no luck.

    I've seen other posts online where they give the code to put into the flash html page and it works for them ... I'm just not sure where it goes.

    sharon

    the separated parts in my html code are what I added in:

    <script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script>

    and

    <div id="flashcontent">SimpleViewer requires JavaScript and the Flash Player.
    <a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer/">Get Flash.</a></div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var fo = new SWFObject("viewer.swf", "viewer", "700", "500", "8", "#181818");
    fo.write("flashcontent");
    </script>

    I think these will work (they're pulling the slideshow up on my site) just not in the right place.

    Thats because they are two flash files. The text goes here is actually within the movie and not in the web page.

    Put the mainpage movie in a div with position:relative; and then add a parameter to the mainpage flash movie that has a value of opaque. Now you can make simpleviewer position:absolute; and place it above the mainpage movie. Also make sure simpleviewer has the parameter wmode="transparent" or wmod="opaque".

    Thanks for trying to help but I'm not that good with html coding.

    I'll either just build a similar slideshow in Flash or get the simpleviewer pro which apparently has actionscrip instructions for embedding (but it costs like 40 bucks or something).

    thanks again
