    Unhappy Images don't appear on same line in IE 7

    Hello, I'm having problems making 2 image links appear on the same line in internet explorer 7, but it works fine in firefox 3.

    Here's how it looks in Firefox 3.0

    Here's how it looks in Internet Explorer 7

    Here's the code for the two buttons to appear on the page:
    Code:
    <div class="vup"><a href="javascript:{$link_shakebox_javascript_vote}" title="Vote Up">vote up</a></div><div class="vdown"><a href="javascript:{$link_shakebox_javascript_report}" title="Vote Down" target="_blank">vote down</a></div>
    Here's the CSS for these images and links.
    Code:
    .vup a { background:url("../images/vup.gif");background-repeat: no-repeat;text-indent: -7887px;width: 26px;height: 35px;float:left; display: block;}
    .vup a:hover {background:url("../images/vup2.gif");background-repeat: no-repeat;}
    .vdown a {background:url("../images/vdown.gif");background-repeat: no-repeat;text-indent: -7887px;width: 24px;height: 35px;float:left;display: block;}
    .vdown a:hover {background:url("../images/vdown2.gif");background-repeat: no-repeat;}
    What am I doing wrong that IE spaces the images like this or puts them on a new line? Is there a more effective way of doing this? Both images are links to vote up or down an article. They change when they are hovered over.

    Could you post a link to your page?

    I cannot, I don't have a server or have this uploaded.
    I'm using Wampserver to view these files on a local host.

    Try using inline instead of block. Not sure if that will do it.
