    bottom and left border width 1

    i am trying to get all the bottom borders to have a line, but not all the boxes to have left border, only every other one, right to left.

    i am getting really lost here and even tried to use dreamweavers css editor and could not make it out.

    please can someone correct my code so it does what i am after.

    thanks in advance for your help.

    Code:
    <style type="text/css">
    table.bottomborderlineoftd{ border-collapse:collapse; }
    table.bottomborderlineoftd td{ border-bottom: 1px solid #000000; }
    table.leftborderlineoftr{ border-collapse:collapse; }
    table.leftborderlineoftr tr{ border-left: 1px solid #000000; }
    </style>
    <table width="100%" class="bottomborderlineoftd">
      <tr>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
      </tr>
      <tr class="leftborderlineoftr">
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
        <td>&nbsp;</td>
      </tr>
    </table>

    How about applying some border-left to table.bottomborderlineoftd ?

    thats just it i have no idea how?

    i dont want all the left's to have a border only every other one where ever i place the 'class' in the<td> or <tr> not sure where it would go

    ok this is a rough idea of what i am trying to do in CSS

    not to scale, the border line should be 1px wide

    Code:
    <style type="text/css">

    table.bottomborderlineoftr{ border-collapse:collapse; }
    table.bottomborderlineoftr td{ border-bottom: 1px solid #000000; }
    </style>
    <table width="100&#37;" class="bottomborderlineoftr">
      <tr>
        <td width="12%">1</td>
        <td width="12%">2;</td>
        <td width="12%">3</td>
        <td width="1%" bgcolor="#000000">4</td>
        <td width="16%">5</td>
        <td width="20%">6</td>
        <td width="1%" bgcolor="#000000">7</td>
        <td width="26%">8</td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>11</td>
        <td>12</td>
        <td>13</td>
        <td bgcolor="#000000">14</td>
        <td>15</td>
        <td>16</td>
        <td bgcolor="#000000">17</td>
        <td>18</td>
      </tr>
      <tr>
        <td>21</td>
        <td>22</td>
        <td>23</td>
        <td bgcolor="#000000">24</td>
        <td>25</td>
        <td>26</td>
        <td bgcolor="#000000">27</td>
        <td>28</td>
      </tr>
    </table>
