    Create an image with a gradient and include it with CSS like that: body {background: url(gradient.png);}

    So far there is no way to do it with CSS alone.

    Seriously, these words....

    Code:
    DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Gradient
    ... make me cry, run for the hills, break out my graphics software and make an image instead

    Thats Microsoft proprietary code. It only works in IE. Its a type of scripting. Its similar to what is used to get transparent pngs to work in IE6.
