    HELP! Unwanted Scroll Bar!

    Forgive me for being daft, but I'm trying to organize the examples page of my client's website and I don't want the bottom scroll bar appearing. How can I fix this?

    http://www.allisonwrote.com/aussie/examples

    HTML:

    <div class="ic">
    <div class="il">
    <div class="it">Landscaping</div>
    <a href="http://www.allisonwrote.com/aussie/examples/landscaping.html">
    <img src="http://www.allisonwrote.com/aussie/images/landscape.jpg" alt="Landscaping"/>
    </a>
    </div>
    <div class="ir">
    <div class="it">Retaining Walls</div>
    <a href="http://www.allisonwrote.com/aussie/examples/retaining.html">
    <img src="http://www.allisonwrote.com/aussie/images/retaining.jpg" alt="Retaining Walls"/>
    </a>
    </div>
    <div class="cc"/>
    </div>

    CSS:

    .ic { width: 800px }
    .il {
    float: left;
    text-align: center;
    margin: 10px 50px 10px 100px;
    }
    .ir {
    float: left;
    text-align: center;
    margin: 10px 0px 10px 50px;
    }
    .it { font-family: Lucida Grande, Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    color: #5C4033;
    }
    .cc { clear: both; }

    thanks,

    allison

    Sorry, I don't know why that happened, but if you just manually type that into your browser you shouldn't have a problem (I tried it on a different computer)

    probably the file is readonly, try to change permision to 644.

    about problem, I guess you have the width sum of the pictures, border, padding, margin over the width of the container. If you don't want to increase the container width, use overflow property to block the scroller.

    Now, did that work for IE or FF. Because if you do that anything that goes below a users browser will not show up because it is overflowing!

    in order to look well you must have same width/height of the pictures, that means all of them to be 400 x 300 px for example. You can fix this for bigger/smaller pictures with css but you lose quality in both cases, incerase loding time in first case, poor resolution in second.
    The aspect ration 4:3 is important because this is how a normal photo is.

    I am new to all this and I read these posts to learn, so I am in no way as good as you guys are, but just an observation, isn’t your head tag supposed to be above your meta tags and I do not see a open body tag either. Just an observation..
