    CSS to format appearance of normal text?

    Is it possible to have a CSS style element that formats the appearance of normal text (the text that is NOT part of any <div> or <p> tags?

    If so how?

    What do you want the text to look like? You can add text to the html and body elements, like this:

    Code:
    html, body {
    	font: 11px Verdana, Tahoma, 'Times New Roman', serif;
    }
    That will apply to ALL text on your site that doesn't have any of styles?
    "write it for FireFox then hack it for IE."

    Why should you want text that is not part of some block-level element? If you had such text, then the styling could be at the mercy of the browser.

    Presumably, if you styled your body element, then this would apply to any text within it.
