    floating problem

    Hi,

I am having some trouble with floating content on my site.

I have a div containing images for buttons near the right of the screen.

When the screen is minimized the buttons shift left as expected but they obscure the logo on the left.

Does any one know away around this? maybe being able to scale the images when the window minimizes?

I attached a couple of screens to illustrate what Im talking about.

    Thanks,

    dub

    Hello dubbeat,
I guessing your lemons logo must be a background image? How does it act if you present that logo in the markup with a href and float it left while floating the button menu right?

You could always put a min-width on it too, though IE6 ignores min-width settings of course.
Search for a conditional statement here in this forum to use for a min-width or I have an example of a CSS min-width solution here.
Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

do you mean put a min width on the logo or the button div?

also do you think its possible that the button images are just too big or should that even matter?

You'll want the min-width to control the div that contains both your logo and menu buttons.

Do you have a test link up?
Did you have any luck searching for a conditional statement?

Yes, the buttons did look pretty big... but I'm not a designer.

ok thanks Ii'll try the min width thing.

I havnt looked for the conditional statement yet because Im still a little intimidated.

Also I've no web space at the moment.

If the min width thing does the trick I'll look into the IE.

    Thanks for your advice.
